SUMMARY:Auslan Level 4 - Night Class (Tuesday)
DESCRIPTION:Content:\n\n\n\n\nThe focus of Level 4 is improving conversational fluency\, increasing confidence and competency interacting with Deaf people in Auslan – not just in being able to sign random vocab\, but in connecting your thoughts and experiences into conversation\, improving both your expressive and receptive language skills.  We will have a week with Deaf guests joining us online for conversation practice. \nWe will also be working towards Level 5 being completely voice off\, Auslan only\, fully immersive experience\, so in Level 4\, I will work with you to get to a point where you are able to understand all the instructions to activities in Auslan and feel ready and competent for Level 5. \nClasses are interactive\, fun\, engaging\, with lots of hands-on activities to help you learn\, practice\, revise\, and retain new knowledge. \nClass sizes are capped at 10 students so there is plenty of opportunity for individual feedback and support. \n\n\n\n\nYou will cover:\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nFocus on Fingerspelling\n\n\n\n\n\nImproved fluency in expressive and receptive skills and increase in speed\n\n\n\n\n\nCulture Close-Up\n\n\n\n\n\nMartha’s Vineyard\nOpportunity for Q&A\nLinking in with your local Deaf communities\n\n\n\n\n\nGrammar Guidance\n\n\n\n\n\nConsolidation of all aspects of grammar with opportunity to practice each component individually and then brought together in sharing personal stories and experiences\nProviding instructions for basic tasks\nExplaining rules for a game\nTranslating written English texts to Auslan\nInterpreting short signed stories into written English\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nNavigating Numbers\n\n\n\n\n\nImproved fluency in expressive and receptive skills and increase in speed\n\n\n\n\n\nVital Vocab\n\n\n\n\n\nThe top 200 most frequently signed words/phrases\nCommon nouns\nCommon verbs\nCommon adjectives\nOpposites\nExtension on:\n\nFood\nPlaces\nAnimals\n\n\nEveryday conversational topics and correlating signs\nAdditional multi-channel signs\nIndustry specific signs depending on students in attendance\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nEach week\, you will receive handouts with further information pertaining to that which has been covered in class\, particularly around aspects of culture and grammar.  You will also receive a weekly summary of all that was covered and a list of vocab that will be taught the following week. \nUpon completion of Level 4\, you will receive a certificate of completion and be ready to progress to Level 5.
